Next week in EastEnders, Karen’s surprise return causes trouble for many Walford residents, while Linda receives an exit offer and George’s storyline is revisited.

1. The reopening of the cafe raises alarm bells
Walford will get its cafe back next week, but the big day is one that will cause trouble for those who know Keanu’s body is under the cafe.
Before the first day is over, Nish and Kat detect a leaking issue that could lead to the floor needing to be replaced.
As five of the six meet to discuss the matter, it soon becomes clear that this may be the last straw for Denise…
2. Bernie gets a shock
Needing a steady income, Bernie makes a move to impress Nish to get her job back at the cafe, and it’s a job well done when he goes so far as to offer her the manager position.
Although Bernie later makes a mistake that jeopardizes his new job, his attention soon turns elsewhere when he sees someone making a surprise return to Walford: Karen.
3. Denise argues, confessing everything
News of the cafe leak excites Denise even more, and she goes to see Pastor Clayton, who encourages her to confess the secrets that upset her.
After writing a letter to Jack, it becomes clear that Denise needs serious help. He starts hallucinating again and sees Keanu.
4. Linda gets an exit offer
As the end of his treatment approaches, Alfie decides it’s time to go on holiday after a heart-to-heart with Ian about recent events.
Meanwhile, Linda is still struggling to keep up with the events of Christmas, and despite some awkwardness between them, Alfie invites her to go on the road trip with him.
5. Karen’s return gives goosebumps
Karen wasn’t exactly welcome in Walford when she left, and she’ll have to face the consequences when she returns at Christmas to find out what happened to Keanu.
One person who is definitely not her biggest fan is Phil, who immediately tries to get his money back from her.
However, Phil’s job seems to be difficult when Karen decides to tell about Kat and Nish’s love.
6. Linda prepares to escape Walford
Wanting to get Karen out of Walford as soon as possible, Kathy decides to report her to the police for her role in the kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Linda is devastated to learn that Karen has returned to town and makes plans to escape thanks to Alfie’s holiday offer. Will Kathy and Linda be able to carry out their plan?
7. Eddie is keeping a secret
Eddie didn’t make a good impression the last time he was in Albert Square and Gina wasn’t too thrilled about him returning to receive an award for supporting diversity in boxing.
Eddie soon finds himself ringside with George giving some tips to boxer Denzel in training, but Eddie’s heavy-handed approach causes friction. Later, after a meeting with Gloria, it becomes clear that Eddie may have ulterior motives for being in the city…
8. Kat has doubts about Nish
A new coat causes some hostility when Kat isn’t thrilled with her choice of gift from Nish.
After an argument over his treatment of Priya, Nish is not happy to see him walk out and leave his new coat behind.
Following her, Nish insists that she wear it; it’s a timed move by a worried Jean. Jean offers some advice that Kat might want to be careful with, but will she listen?
9. George and Cindy fight
Gina confides her concerns about Eddie to Cindy and is happy that her mother understands where she is coming from. And Cindy decides she should try talking to George about the situation.
Unfortunately, George is not happy that Cindy has decided to intervene and turns the tables by bringing his own mistakes as a parent into the conversation…
10. Linda and Karen clash
Linda fears how Karen will react when she comes face to face with the mother of the man she killed while in the Square.
And it doesn’t take long for the dreaded moment to occur. How will Linda react? Meanwhile, Linda’s behavior doesn’t go unnoticed elsewhere when Lauren catches her sneaking a drink…
11th Floor’s problems continue
Things don’t get any better when Kat and Priya, whose new relationship with Nish has already deteriorated, argue once again. Not only that, but she also learns that Tommy has made a shocking decision.
Kat, stunned that her son has decided to move in with Phil, decides she can’t stand it and walks towards Number 55 to fight him. Is he about to make the situation worse?
12. Linda continues to fall apart
Even though he reassures Elaine that he’s quit drinking alcohol completely, there’s barely any time before Lauren catches him buying wine at Minute Mart.
While Lauren insists she keep an eye on Annie, Kathy realizes the situation and soon gets into a violent argument with Linda. Ignoring all requests to sober up, Linda goes to Albert; He’s not ready to quit drinking yet…
