PARIS — Paris Fashion Week always produces big celebrity moments. Over the years, the event has featured A-list actors, musicians and cultural icons front row, catwalk and after-parties.

Nicole Kidman x Chanel, Spring 2005
Nicole Kidman’s Chanel No. 2004 Who can forget the iconic commercial he shot for his perfume 5? The commercial, directed by Baz Luhrmann, reportedly cost $33 million, making it one of the most expensive commercials of all time. The luxury brand’s Spring 2005 collection picks up where the ad left off; A red carpet covers the podium and photographers shine brightly in the stands. Sitting in the front row, the actress turned heads with her liquid satin jacket, which was secured with a jeweled brooch.

When Lady Gaga’s stylist Nicola Formichetti (responsible for the pop star’s iconic raw meat dress and other extraordinary costumes) became Mugler’s new creative director, it was clear from the start that Gaga would play a role in the brand’s revival. Creating a special soundtrack for her menswear debut, Gaga went on to wear a plethora of couture outfits in the making of her first womenswear collection in 2011, strutting down the runway smoking a cigarette.
Rihanna and Cara Delevingne x Chanel, Fall 2014
Rihanna and Cara Delevingne stocked up on essentials while perusing the aisles at Chanel’s supermarket-inspired fall 2014 show. Labels included information about the house, and offerings included everything from soup to nuts, ham Cambon and a chainsaw.
Kim Kardashian x Givenchy, Spring 2015
At Riccardo Tisci’s Spring 2015 Givenchy collection, Kim Kardashian, her then-husband Kanye West, and Kris Jenner filled the front row in outfits that nod to Gothic romance. But the real star was one-year-old North West, who turned heads with a miniature version of her mother’s dress.
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson x Valentino, Fall 2015
Art and life collided in 2015 when “Zoolander” stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson blocked Valentino’s runway. Showing off their best Blue Steel looks, the actors took to the podium in character, singing The Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me.” The stuntman announced the sequel to the cult comedy and confirmed that Stiller and Wilson will reprise their roles as male models Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald.
Celine Dion, Spring 2019
Celine Dion took couture season by storm in 2019, consistently delivering enviable looks. Highlights include an all-black Chanel jumpsuit from the brand’s Spring 2019 collection, accented with chain-link hardware and a matching belt; a finely woven, billowy Iris van Herpen dress; and a Vêtements blazer, miniskirt and top that read “I love Paris Hilton.”
Gigi Hadid x Chanel, Spring 2020
While walking in Chanel’s Spring 2020 fashion show, model Gigi Hadid took it upon herself to escort a person who had an accident off the runway. Hadid was seen calmly placing her hand on the interloper’s shoulder and walking him backstage. Crasher Marie Benoliel, a comedian and YouTube personality best known as Marie S’Infiltre, was wearing a houndstooth tweed suit and a flat-topped hat. Since the stunt, Benoliel’s Instagram follower count has increased from 199,000 to over 672,000.
Balenciaga, Fall 2022
Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell and Bella Hadid were just a few of the celebrities who showed up at Balenciaga’s fall 2022 couture show. The front row of the event was also star-studded: VIP arrivals included Kris Jenner with her grandson North West, rapper Offset and actress Alexa Demi.
Kylie Jenner and Doja Cat x Schiaparelli, Spring 2023
Kylie Jenner and Doja Cat set social media on fire when they arrived at Schiaparelli’s Spring 2023 couture show in dazzling custom looks. The rapper was clad in 30,000 hand-applied ruby Swarovski crystals, a red-hot silk fail-safe bustier, a hand-knitted skirt made of lacquered wooden beads, and a shawl. Jenner arrived in a black, lacy velvet dress and the most unusual of accessories: a fake, life-size lion head.
Gigi Hadid x Coperni, Spring 2023
Coperni and Bella Hadid made one of the most viral fashion moments of the spring 2023 season with a dress spray-painted on the model’s body, generating a media impact value of $ 26.3 million. The label worked with Fabrican to create the suit, which is made from a patented material that dries when it hits any surface, including liquids. The fashion, healthcare and automotive industries are exploring uses for technology that can create a layer of non-woven fabric.
K-pop x Celine, Spring 2023
Palais de Tokyo, the venue for Celine’s spring 2023 men’s show, was flooded by thousands of screaming fans as Blackpink’s Lisa and BTS’s Kim Taehyung, aka V, arrived to show their support. This was V’s first public appearance since BTS’s hiatus announcement at the beginning of the month, and the crazy devotees turned out in such force that all guests were escorted backstage.
Sam Smith x Vivienne Westwood, Fall 2024
Singer Sam Smith made his catwalk debut at Vivienne Westwood’s fall 2024 show, walking not once, but twice. In her first look from the Renaissance-inspired collection, Smith sported a jumble of checkered pieces, including bottomless hot pants and a shawl scarf, while clutching a cane. The second was an all-black ensemble consisting of a mesh strap top and a long-sleeved wrap dress with floor-length ruffles.
