Love finally struck when Hart fell in love with a man she met during the pandemic and married at the age of 51. It’s been two years, but the TV star has managed to keep her love life a secret while under the spotlight.

In her new book, Hart was delighted to tell readers that she “doesn’t have a boyfriend,” in fact, “he is my husband.”

Luckily, the star shared details of their romance throughout her book but was careful to keep her identity private. Instead of calling him by his first name, Hart affectionately called him “Bristol Boy” or “Mold Man”.

Hart, who conveyed his love story to the readers, also shared the first details of his romantic marriage proposal in his book. It was an “ordinary January day” when they were out for a walk in the stunning Kew Gardens in Richmond, London, when her then-boyfriend popped the question.

They were standing on the bridge looking out at the lake when Hart was caught off guard, and the actor burst into happy tears over the emotional moment. Undoubtedly, he thought that a traditional proposal would not affect his heart so much.

In typical Hart fashion, she recalled in a humorous, sarcastic way that it would have been weird if he hadn’t asked her to marry him.

“I turned around and she got down on one knee. “Miranda…” I don’t remember anything else because I just started crying,” she wrote of the moment in her book, which she shared with The Daily Mail. “She was apparently saying yes before finishing the sentence (if she had been tying her shoelaces) It would be weird…”

Getting married isn’t the only bombshell Hart writes about in his autobiography. The TV personality also lifted the lid on being diagnosed with Lyme Disease. According to the NHS, Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection spread to humans by infected ticks.

Viewers were disappointed that Hart did not return to the role in 2017’s Call The Midwife and due to a busy work schedule at the time, but Hart later revealed during a comedy gig that he was in poor health.

Doctors diagnosed Hart’s symptoms with agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder in which a person fears being stuck in certain situations. While in isolation at the age of 14, 33 years after his first symptoms, Hart received a diagnosis of Lyme Disease, reflecting what he had been through for decades.

In an excerpt shared with The Daily Mail, she wrote: “I walked out of the Zoom call, closed my laptop, and just sat there, motionless and terrified. There were so many emotions, I was shocked, but I also immediately felt a deep sadness and disappointment – When I KNEW something was wrong for over thirty years, I remembered saying to different doctors: “I feel poisoned and poisoned, or like I have the flu every day, but I don’t have a temperature.”

“(It’s amazing how the body can sometimes literally tell us what’s going on.) When I was told I must have agoraphobia, I felt my anger rise. I would try to treat it that way, but it turned out that when I went out to engage in any activity or stimulating environment, it caused my body to collapse.” “It was a lack of energy and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.”

One of the reasons Hart wrote her book was to share what helped her recover after a Lyme Disease diagnosis.

She told BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Wednesday: “I thought I should explore all this wellness expertise and the dialogue that’s out there, but I was home alone in bed, doctors didn’t know what to do with me and I couldn’t take a cold dip or go on a yoga retreat.”

“So I thought about what the universal truths were. I did years of research when I felt like I could, and in the book there are 10 keys to living well that I call my treasures. And they really really really exist. [helped]. Despite the pain that comes, I feel like I’m living a life of joy, meaning, and fulfillment in a way I’ve never experienced before.”

Miranda’s memoir, I Wasn’t Completely Honest With You, was released on Thursday, October 10.
