When deciding to stay in Mayrhofen, the resort near the Penken cable car is handy for many of the liveliest bars – but this can be a noisy choice. There are still plenty of hotel options on quieter streets away from the central hub of the resort, although in return it is often preferable to be further away from the main Penken cable car.

Der Siegeler is one of Mayrhofen’s oldest buildings but has been restored and expanded. Although in the center of the village, the location is particularly peaceful, set within its own gardens. The accommodation is fitted with contemporary furnishings and centered around a lively Sports bar.

Gasthof Edelweiss
A good budget option is Gasthof Edelweiss, a traditional guesthouse with nine simply furnished double rooms, offering a buffet breakfast option and free parking. It is close to the ski lifts and has a restaurant with a varied menu, including lots of pizzas, and a café with a large terrace.

Sport & Spa Hotel Strass
Sport & Spa Hotel Strass, which is very popular especially for families in Mayrhofen, is actually a combination of two four-star hotels run by the Roscher family. The two hotels are so large and rambling that it takes a while to get your bearings, and the bar feels right at home in the airport. It all feels a little strange at first, but the longer the stay, the more a pleasant sense of eccentricity grows. The location is excellent, next to the Penken gondola station; yet it can be lively and very loud.

Gutshof Zillertal
A stylish bed and breakfast located outside the center but on the ski bus route, the four-star Gutshof Zillertal has comfortable, modern rooms and suites ranging from 16 m2 to 68 m2. Neuhaus
About 400 meters from the lifts and 100 meters from the village centre, Resort Hotel Neuhaus (formerly Alpendomizil Neuhaus) is a beautiful, traditional old building full of charm and character. Run by the Moigg family, the hotel consists of two interconnected buildings; the traditional Neuhaus main building and the recently renovated St Josef wing. There is a swimming pool, sauna and gym.
