The Platts will face more stress and turmoil in Coronation Street next week following Gail Platt’s unexpected trip to hospital. But as the family gathers around his hospital bed, tensions rise as David feels responsible.
Jesse Chadwick lashes out at David when he questions him about his guilt. Are Jesse’s suspicions about David confirmed? Meanwhile, David panics when Shona reveals that Jesse has returned to Number 8 alone.
Damon Hay also calls Sarah and explains that although it gave her a beating, she blamed the theft of the money on one of Harvey’s co-workers and exonerated them.

But relief turns to sadness for Sarah when Damon ends the call, saying they need to cut off all contact. Later, Sarah tells Jesse that Damon confirmed that he got rid of Harvey and apologizes for doubting him.
Soon Jesse has an announcement that will leave the Platt family stunned. Elsewhere, Bethany prepares breakfast for Daniel Osbourne at the apartment, but when he walks in without knocking and sees her stoma bag for the first time, Bethany becomes embarrassed and yells at him to get out. Meanwhile, while Nick Tilsley is out, Toyah Habeeb calls around to keep an eye on Sam Blakeman. Initially hostile, Sam softens when Toyah apologizes to him. Nick comes home to find them making models. Nick is impressed that Toyah managed to win Sam over. But when Nick reveals that he still loves her, Toyah pulls him in for a kiss. Can they really rekindle their relationship?
Later, Leanne Battersby tells Nick that she cannot agree to be front of house following the Institute’s disagreement and suggests he hire someone. Nick offers Toyah the bistro manager job, telling Toyah they make a great team and it will get Leanne used to seeing them together.
Also on the pavements, while working on the case of a vandalized car, DS Lisa Swain noticed that the car had been damaged on the same road Joel Deering was attacked the same night and the owner recalled hearing two men arguing outside his flat. Dee Dee tells Bailey that the car was hit by a red car, and when Lisa realizes Ronnie’s red car is in for repairs, she tackles her at The Rovers.
Later at the apartment, Carla praises Lisa for juggling work and motherhood, but when Carla offers her a comforting hand, Lisa is startled and quickly walks out, eviscerating Carla.
When Betsy got home and walked into the bathroom and saw Lisa’s bruises, she wasn’t convinced by the excuse of doing it in body combat class. I found a bottle of painkillers dated September 28th. He tells Mason and is shocked when he tells him that Joel was killed on the 27th.
Betsy is shaken when Daisy Midgeley tells her she was in a fight the night Joel was killed. Meanwhile, Ryan Connor questions whether Carla was being honest about her actions on the night in question. Carla insists that she went outside to turn off the factory lights.
While Lisa lies to Betsy that her bruises were from an injury at the office, Carla admits to Bobby Crawford that she ran away to the factory the night Joel was killed, but told the police she was home all evening. with her and Ryan.
While the investigation into Joel’s death continues, at the station, Lisa tells Kit Green that if Joel plans to escape, he will have some personal items with him, and if they find them, it could lead them to the killer. . Kit was annoyed by his intrusion. After a formal complaint is made against her, Lisa angrily blames Daisy and Kit.
It’s also dramatic when Liam Connor unknowingly steps in front of Chesney Brown’s car, and Mason Radcliffe catches him and pulls him to safety. However, after witnessing their intense exchange, Dev Alahan tells Gary Windass that he is taking matters into his own hands.
And when Cassie Plummer announces that she’s going on a date later, Steve McDonald is disdainful of the man she’s going on a date with. Cassie thinks he looks jealous. But when her date doesn’t go as planned, Steve comes to the rescue, taking her to The Rovers and boosting her confidence. Has the spark between them been reignited?
The next day at #1, Ken is unaware that Cassie and Steve have spent the night together. Adam Barlow calls and is perturbed to learn that Ken paid for airport lounge tickets and first class flights. Adam tells Steve that Ken is worried about where he will find the money to finance his and Cassie’s lavish lifestyle and fears their debt will mount, so when Ken and Cassie return from Porto they agree that a family intervention is necessary.
