“I always feel sophisticated,” said stylist Law Roach while wearing the brand. “I think the name Armani just symbolizes luxury, and it’s a very aspirational but also approachable name. “I think that’s the key to its longevity.”

In addition to introducing his latest collection, the designer was in New York to celebrate the opening of the brand’s new flagship located at 760 Madison Avenue.

“Oh, it’s a real honor to be a part of this brand,” said Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the face of men’s fragrance Acqua di Giò. “I think Giorgio Armani is the epitome of class and elegance. And, you know, tonight’s celebration of this event, Madison Avenue housing and sustainability, is remarkable. “I think that’s something he’s always been very strong about: sustainability,” he added. “That’s what we did for Acqua di Giò. So yes, I feel very attached to this brand.”

Amanda Seyfried was on Facetime as she walked into the pre-show cocktail party, which featured a giant Giorgio Armani clock hanging above a circular bar designed to resemble Grand Central Terminal and train tracks projected onto wall screens. No one in the crowd cared to wait for the next departure time; In this case, around 8 p.m., when the show floor opened, Seyfried stopped to chat with Brett Goldstein before finding her banquet seat next to Pamela Anderson and LaKeith Stanfield, while Meghann Fahy caught up with her. At the next booth he’s with his “Perfect Couple” co-star Liev Schreiber.

There were also many designers in the crowd who were excited to attend the first Armani fashion show and paid their respects to the Italian designer.

“So this is a man who changed the way people dressed and lived,” Michael Kors said. “I wore my first Giorgio Armani jacket when I was 19. I saved up money and wore it until I died. And I think he is a remarkable inspiration to the entire industry.”

“I think I can’t afford Giorgio Armani, but I try to look as much as I can with the vintage look,” said Willy Chavarria, speaking of his earliest memories of Armani. “So I would buy vintage jackets and shorten them so the sleeves were billowy — and I still do that look,” she added. “[Giorgio Armani] is the most iconic designer; He is someone I have admired and looked up to throughout my life. He is someone I constantly draw inspiration from. That’s why being here is such a big thing for me that I can’t describe in words.”

The show had a little bit of everything: An awards season-worthy crowd, nearly 100 looks, and a brief demonstration protesting the brand’s use of crocodile skin. (According to a PETA spokesperson, Anderson kissed the activist on her seat.)

After Armani bowed and waved as the crowd gave a standing ovation, guests returned to Armani Station to continue the celebration with cocktails and light snacks.

“Pink,” Stanfield said of her initial reaction to the collection. “I love pink. That’s why I love how the colors blend together so naturally and fluidly. Nothing really felt like a sharp, drastic turn. “Everything went really smoothly and it was an enjoyable experience,” he added. “In the back of my mind, traveling really made me look at bags and accessories a lot differently. What would I be carrying there? How would I go about it if I got on a plane?”

“It felt very united, relaxed and calm,” added Steven Yeun. “I felt like it was for everyone. “I appreciated that.”

Later in the evening, Chaka Khan took to the stage to perform for the crowd.

“It’s nice to be back in New York. You know, I lived here for a couple of 20 years and I loved it and I miss this great city,” Khan said before launching into his next song, “What Cha’ Gonna Do for Me.” “As I sing this. ..what will you do for me?”
