“Riccardo [Ghezzi] and last September I got married and the wedding took place on the private estate of 19-year-old Tenuta Corbinaia. This“It’s a turn-of-the-century villa with its own winery and stunning views of the surrounding Tuscan hills,” Yasmine Naghdi, the Royal Ballet’s principal ballerina, tells Harper’s Bazaar.

She explained that the overall theme of their fairytale wedding is “understated elegance and elegance blended with the natural beauty of the Tuscan landscape”; The inspiration for the dress was “traditional and elegant but with a contemporary and fun twist.” . It didn’t take long to find him. “I considered various bridal designers in the UK and internationally but as soon as I saw ‘Sara’ [designed by the all female-led Ukrainian bridal brand Milla Nova], I instantly knew it was the one! The ivory satin strapless dress had a long train and a lace mikado bodice; Its “delicate fold, reminiscent of rose petals, created a rich texture with a soft sheen that held its shape extremely well” and had a draped, multi-layered, floor-length skirt. A high slit in the middle reveals the miniskirt underneath.

Naghdi discovered the brand through a CNN documentary. “I was impressed to see how Milla Nova helped many members of the women’s team move with their families and children to a new and secure facility in Warsaw. My dresses were made in their atelier and when they arrived in London, I asked Rosana Rosa from Alterations Boutique in Marble Arch to adjust the length and curves of my dress to ensure a perfect fit.”

Below, the award-winning British ballerina shares more about her bridal look, including how she achieved the perfect complexion, shiny hair, and heat-resistant makeup for her special day.

As she builds her hairstyle around her dress…

“I spent a lot of time thinking about various hairstyles but ultimately decided on a simple look; I wanted to look like ‘me’ without any dramatic transformation.

“I tried out a look that I thought would work at home one afternoon and then decided to collaborate with Ciro Via delle Terme, a hairdresser and beauty salon in Florence. The day before my wedding, I met with their stylist, Maurizio Nelli, and described the look I was dreaming of: center parting, the front of my hair combed neatly behind my ears, soft waves along the back, and white satin. The ribbon acts as a hair band. “The next afternoon she made it through and wore my classic long veil with the words ‘Always in my heart’ written on it.”

“I’m used to doing my own stage make-up when I perform at the Royal Opera House or internationally, so I decided not to use a bridal make-up artist. I used Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation as a base along with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder; Nars Blush shade Orgasm; Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Instant Temperature Bronzer and Brow MVP Ultra-Fine Brow Pencil and Shaper; and a tiny amount of Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick for eyeshadow. I decided not to use false lashes to preserve my natural look, but did apply a light layer of Dior DiorShow Mascara in a waterproof formula, preventing the risk of panda eyes when the tears started to flow. I used Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Bare color on my lips. Lastly, Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray helped keep my makeup fresh and long-lasting.”

While training your skin for the big day…

“My skin care was very important to me leading up to the wedding to ensure the perfect glow. A few months before my big day, I headed to Santi London in South Kensington for personalized facial treatments.

“Santi Spa is my go-to place to recover and relax after any performance at the Royal Opera House; “Their massages and beauty treatments are perfectly tailored to my recovery needs as a ballerina.”

When booking other bridal beauty treatments…

“Before the wedding, I had some microblading sessions to improve my eyebrow shape and a deep conditioning treatment to make my hair shinier, less frizzy and able to withstand the Tuscan humidity.

“The day before my wedding, I, along with my mother and sister, visited the same salon that took care of my hair to get a pedicure and manicure. It was such a special moment just the three of us together. “I chose a translucent, light pink nail polish for both my fingers and toes.”

When choosing your wedding day perfume…

“I chose Tiare eau de parfum by Chantecaille, a scent that will now forever remind me of my wedding day. A very seductive scent; The crown known as the ‘flower of love’. It is also an energizing scent; very sweet. It evokes the relaxing feeling of the tropics: calm seas, warm breezes and lush vegetation. “A scent that completely suits and complements my personality.”
