What are the Six Nations squads?

Who is in the Wales squad?

Wales coach Warren Gatland has appointed Dafydd Jenkins as captain. Jenkins, 21, has made just 12 caps and will become the second-youngest man to captain his country in the absence of Jac Morgan and the injured Dewi Lake.

Gatland has included five unrestricted players in his squad, with six of them yet to appear in the Six Nations. Louis Rees-Zammit is not on the roster following his decision to join the NFL.

Who is in the Scotland squad?

England under-18 and under-20 winger Arron Reed has been selected in Scotland’s 39-man squad. Coach Gregor Townsend has not named his captain yet.

Toulouse’s New Zealand-born giant Emmanuel Meafou moved one step closer to his France debut after being included in Fabien Galthié’s Six Nations squad as one of six uncapped players.

Meafou, who qualified for Les Bleus after serving as an assistant at last year’s World Cup, has made a name for himself as one of Europe’s toughest scoring forwards since his arrival in Toulouse in 2019.

La Rochelle skipper Grégory Alldritt will captain France in the absence of Antoine Dupont, who will miss the entire Six Nations to focus on a potential sevens appearance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Who is in the Italy squad?

The headline news of Italy’s squad announcement was the selection of South African-born backrower Ross Vintcent.

Experienced Munster player Peter O’Mahony was named as the new Ireland captain on Wednesday and Farrell ushered in the post-Johnny Sexton era by nominating a mostly experienced 34-man squad to defend the Six Nations title.
