Every summer since 1950, Dubrovnik’s old town has been the scene of open-air cultural performances by internationally renowned artists including classical music, jazz, opera, theatre, dance and film. Classical music recitals await you in the courtyard of the Rector’s Palace, Shakespeare plays on a terrace above the sea at Lovrjenac Castle, and ballet performances on the roof terrace of the Revelin Tower. Over the years leading jazz pianists and world-class classical musicians have performed here, as well as leading actors such as Daniel Day Lewis and Derek Jacobi.

This makeshift outdoor bar (operating only in the summer months) is extremely popular, but that’s part of the fun. When you enter through a small gate in the walls overlooking the sea, the view you encounter is magnificent; Only the sea and the sky, rows of tables lined up on the rocks. Slavica open air cinema

Open-air summer cinema is an institution in Dalmatia, and Kino Slavica dates back to 1950. Located high above the sea on the road from the Old Town to the Lopud peninsula, within a walled garden full of pine trees, this cinema offers a beautiful setting. The place to watch movies under the starlit sky on a warm summer evening. Expect European art films and black-and-white classics (mostly in English, with Croatian subtitles). Owned by three brothers, this open-air prosecco bar is located in a terraced garden high above the beach, next to the beautiful Slavica summer cinema. Located in the 16th-century Revelin Tower, just outside the city walls, near the Ploče Gate, Revelin is Dubrovnik’s only real nightclub. This building, which can be reached by climbing stone stairs, has three rooms with open stone walls and vaulted ceilings, connected by large open arches, and a huge terrace.
