For years, men’s red carpet fashion was just a side dish of stereotypical tuxedos. Now is usually the beginning.
Menswear has been thrust into the spotlight thanks to bold printmakers like Harry Styles, Timothée Chalamet and Billy Porter, and the designers and stylists behind them. This year’s awards season promises to be a visual feast.

When it comes to the stylists who helped create the looks for this year’s Golden Globes, Ilaria Urbinati is leading the way.
The master image maker will dress Barry Keoghan, nominated for “Saltburn,” James Marsden for “Jury Duty,” Tyler James Williams, nominated for “Abbott Elementary,” and Ramy Youssef for “Poor Things.”
Born in Rome and raised in Paris, Urbinati began his fashion career as a buyer before entering the world of style. Living in Los Angeles, he also has experience in retail; In 2008, he opened a store at Confederacy (now closed) in Silver Lake, which featured brands such as Etro, Alaïa, Proenza Schouler, Martin Margiela, Michael Bastian, Rag & Bone and APC. He collaborated on a line of custom suits seen on Ryan Gosling’s dresses. The character in “Crazy, Stupid, Love” has created capsule collections for Eddie Bauer, Montblanc, The Mighty Company, Rebecca Minkoff, London Sock Company and Roots of Fight, and partnerships with Porsche, Walmart and David Yurman. Jeanne Yang is also no stranger to top stylist lists. She lives in Los Angeles and began her career as managing editor and associate publisher at Detour Magazine. Over the years, his client list has included Christian Bale, Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, Jamie Dornan, Taika Waititi, Simu Liu, Kumail Nanjiani, Regé-Jean Page and Anthony Mackie. He will dress Alexander Skarsgård (“Succession”) and Robert Downey Jr. (“Oppenheimer”) at the Globes. In 2023, it was announced that Yang had joined Anonymous Content as a manager and producer. She works across all divisions, representing emerging talent, developing and producing film and TV projects, leading new ventures, securing branding deals, and working at Anonymous Content’s creative incubator, The Lab. His clients include “Beef” actor Joseph Lee.
One to look out for is Yes Sanchez, the stylist who recently dressed Leonardo DiCaprio during his “Killers of the Flower Moon” tour. She dressed him in a Gucci tuxedo at both the LACMA gala in Los Angeles and the 2023 Gotham Awards in New York. By the way, she wore a special Alexander McQueen at the Cannes Film Festival. In the past, Sanchez has designed music videos for Common and Jack White. (She has also done red carpet work for the likes of Emma Watson and Rosario Dawson.) A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, she holds training certificates in sustainability and corporate sustainability from UCLA and NYU, and focuses on social and social rights advocacy. At the Globes, she will dress Charles Melton for his role in “May December” (along with Elle Fanning, nominated for “The Great,” and Brie Larson, nominated for “Lessons in Chemistry”). McMillen started his career. Before becoming a stylist in 2001, she worked in public relations for designers Richard Tyler and Giorgio Armani. Her campaigns and collaborations include work with Tiffany & Co, Hugo Boss, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Dior, L’Oréal, Tag Heuer and Omega. She also posed with Larson on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Most Powerful Stylists” cover.
Other notable stylists include Jenny Ricker, who dresses Jeremy Strong (“Succession”); Ryan Hastings, who works with Chalamet (“Wonka”); Mark Avery with Ryan Gosling (“Barbie”); Megan Bowman Gray with Steven Yeun (“Beef”); Mark Holmes and Bill Hader (“Barry”); Warren Alfie Baker with Andrew Scott (“We Are All Strangers”); Wayman and Micah star alongside Colman Domingo (“Rustin”) and Rose Forde alongside Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”).
