Boots has announced the best-selling skin care products of 2023, and the brand new No7 serum, which sold in record numbers, took first place.

The serum is part of No7’s revolutionary Future Renew range, launching in April 2023, and boasts No7’s most scientifically advanced formula to date and incorporates world-first peptide technology. The four-piece collection took 15 years to create and includes a day cream, night cream, serum and eye cream designed to “reverse the look” of skin damage.

The hero product of the range is No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum, which has so far been named Boots’ best-selling skincare product of 2023. In fact, it proved so popular that one was sold every two seconds on launch day, with over half a million transactions occurring in the first four weeks. Not only that, searches for ‘peptide serum’ on Boots’ online site have increased by over 55%.

The serum was followed by Boots bestsellers Future Renew Day Cream SPF40 and Future Renew Night Cream; tons of customers decided to overhaul their entire skincare routine with the groundbreaking collection.

How does this ‘super peptide’ mix work?

The science behind Future Renew is quite complex but simply put, the ‘super peptide’ tricks the skin into thinking it has been damaged, which begins the healing and regeneration process.

As a result, it increases the production of collagen and fibrillin, also known as key ingredients for skin plumpness and elasticity. This entire ecosystem means it can more effectively combat skin damage caused by sun exposure, pollution, stress, sleep, heat and nutrition.

No7’s Future Renew facial serum is formulated with a proprietary blend of peptides, as well as hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide.

No7’s Head of Science Research, Dr. Mike Bell explained: “The new peptide blend therefore supports the skin’s natural self-healing mechanisms and targets signs of cumulative damage both above and below the surface. This is a world-first technology only available at No7. We believe it will change the rules of the game.”

It has many bold claims with its formula providing numerous benefits such as combating fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, skin tone, dryness and loss of firmness. Not only has it received over 800 five-star reviews from happy customers, but I tested the serum when it first launched and was blown away.

Why am I evaluating

This serum is by far the centerpiece of the Future Renew line, packing a cocktail of hard-working ingredients including niacinamide to brighten, hyaluronic acid to hydrate, vitamin c for dullness, and a patented peptide blend.

It has a quick-absorbing gel texture and I appreciated the thin head, which means it’s basically impossible to apply too much or make a mess. I used it day and night on my cleansed skin before using the moisturizer.

I was impressed with how smooth and soft it made my skin and improved the texture in just a week. It also sat very well under makeup and didn’t irritate my reactive, sensitive skin that’s prone to hormonal acne and rosacea, so it will definitely remain a daily part of my skincare routine. You can also read my full review of the entire series here.

If you want to buy a smaller size to try before neutering, you can also get the serum in a 25ml tube for £34.95.

What do the reviews say?

More than 800 customers have awarded the serum five stars with glowing reviews that make a compelling argument to add it to your cart.

  • “I love this serum, it glides onto my skin and leaves it feeling protected and nourished. I’m 60 and have just started using this serum and I highly recommend it.”

  • “Literally THE BEST of No7’s serums. A month after I started using this, I had a sunspot on my cheek. It’s magical!”

  • “I used this product for 3.5 months. I found that it made my skin smoother, felt more moisturized, and made my dark under eyes look a little lighter. I use it every day, morning and evening, and will continue to use it.”

  • “I absolutely loved this serum. It’s so lightweight and I feel like my face looks smoother and fresher. I bought this alongside the day cream. I love it.”

  • “This is my second purchase. I like that it absorbs well on my skin and leaves a soft feeling. I usually use it with a moisturizer, but most of the time I use it alone with a future regenerating eye serum. It’s expensive, but it lasts a long time, just like you. Just a small amount on your fingertip is enough.”
