Young viewers were surprised when Victoria Beckham contributed a healthy dose of humor to last year’s hit Netflix documentary Beckham. “Is Posh funny?” they said.
Guys, Posh has always been funny. On the contrary, she is the funniest member of the Spice Girls, but you would never notice that this was done on purpose. From her fierce pout to her refusal to wear anything but heels (even with crutches at last Fashion Week, respect) to her dry humor and cutting remarks, Victoria was always in on the joke.
To celebrate his 50th birthday, here are some of his best moments.
1. About proper fan behavior
Ahead of the Spice Girls’ world tour in Vancouver in 2007, Victoria made it clear what kind of reaction she expected from fans: “The airport was amazing,” she told an interviewer, “there were a lot of lovely Japanese people there.” Crying or fainting shows you’re a real fan , I think this is a good sign. “
2. Ali G’s appearance
At many points throughout history, Posh has proven that she is in on the joke, and there is no better example than this against VB and Ali G. At one point he asks if Brooklyn wants him to be like his father, as a football player or as an actor. singer asks, “Like Mariah Carey?” Posh replies: “I hope he grows up to be a football player like his father and I want to grow up to be a singer like Mariah Carey.”
3. About how much time the Spice Girls spent together
The Spice Girls were subjected to a lot of pointless and repetitive questions, and Posh played a key role in adding excitement to some of their answers. When asked how much time they spent together, Mel C seriously answered how they worked together and lived together for a short time; An exasperated Victoria chimed in and joked: “Then when we were at the institute together, we spent a lot of time working on our act.”
4. With suitable shoes
Victoria Beckham’s insistence on wearing heels is long-standing and well-documented throughout history. When Mel B admits in an interview that she and Emma Bunton started wearing boots on stage but Victoria didn’t, Posh pointedly notes: “See, I suffer for my art.”
5. David Beckham on big billboards
If there’s one thing Victoria Beckham is good at, it’s taking thirsty or inappropriate interview questions about her husband and turning them into gold. When asked about David’s Emporio Armani campaign in 2008, he replied: “I didn’t see it on this trip, but I did, I think it’s great, I think Marcus.” [Piggott, the photographer] “You did a great job, I think it’s a great campaign and I’m proud to see your penis is about 25ft long.”
6. Accidental double entry at the Glamor Awards
When accepting the Woman of the Decade Award in 2013, Victoria was greeted with a very short microphone and, holding the microphone close to her mouth, said: “Oh, I’ve got to raise it, that doesn’t happen very often.” The crowd goes crazy and it takes a minute to even realize what she’s doing. “Oh my god, I didn’t even mean that!” she gasps before addressing her son in the audience: “I’m so sorry, Brooklyn, I’m sorry.”
7. *This* Michael Parkinson interview
One of VB’s most infamous interviews took place in 2001, when she and David were being interrogated by Michael Parkinson and Victoria had just fired a shot. From his iconic comment about David’s particular nickname (Golden Balls) to his self-effacing self-assessments (“I guess they think I’m a miserable cow in high heels and I’m always walking down Bond Street – there’s nothing like that there” there’s something wrong with that”), the entire interview shows just how lovely Posh really is. It’s a masterclass in Posh’s quick wit and dry humour; Including the moment when Parkinson asks David why he shaved his eyebrows and David says it’s a phase, to which Posh adds: “It makes him more aerodynamic.”
8. When he gave David advice on singing the national anthem.
It turns out David Beckham hated singing the national anthem when he captained England, but fear not; Victoria comes to the rescue with some solid advice. “You’re taking a page from my book and doing a pantomime,” she joked in an interview with David at the time.
9. On the Queen’s stance
The Real Beckhams (2004)
A documentary favorite from VB’s oeuvre, in which Victoria marvels at the Queen’s stoic demeanor when she has to speak to someone from the Inland Revenue, and observes how Buckingham Palace pales in comparison to the grandeur of Beckingham Palace. pic.twitter.com/OfGFIbP74c

In a clip from the ‘Réal’ Beckhams documentary 2004, Posh praises her recent meeting with the Queen. “At the end of the day, he does his job and is still very kind and made everyone there today feel special,” he says. “He talked to everyone. You know a guy got a medal for his service to the Internal Revenue Service, so who would want to talk to him? But he did!”
10. On his father’s choice of car
This is the white lie heard around the world. In the 2023 Beckham documentary, Victoria is talking about her working-class status when David interrupts her and asks: “What car did your father take you to school in?” He protests and finally admits: “Okay, my dad had a Rolls Royce in the ’80s.” “Thank you,” David said before closing the door and walking away.
Pure Posh and Becks comedy gold.
